‘The Golden Striker and Esk Paintings’ is a special exhibition of new works by acclaimed British artist William Tillyer, staged in celebration of Tillyer’s 80th birthday this September. The exhibition features three of Tillyer’s Tapestry paintings, the focal work being ‘The Golden Striker’, a nine-metre-long work on mesh panels displayed across the entire back wall of the main gallery space. This immersive work is displayed alongside a selection of smaller paintings, including an Esk Bridge landscape, a recurring theme in Tillyer’s 60-year artistic career.
