New research reveals over half of office workers (56 per cent) take less than 30 minutes for lunch per day therefore missing out on 18 working days of free time per year, even though over a third (36 per cent) claim to be less stressed after taking a break away from their desk. Seymour Place in Marylebone is encouraging workers to reclaim their lunchbreaks by offering a host of workshops, experiences and promotions at the restaurants and shops on the street on the first Thursday of every month.

Starting on Thursday 4th October, Londoners will have the opportunity to use their lunch breaks to learn a new life skill; family-run Thompsons Gallery will help guests exercise their artistic skills at a complimentary 30-minute drawing class, with the winning piece receiving a bottle of champagne. Former Saville Row tailor, Erland Norby, will host a 20-minute ‘bowtie’ workshop at his Taliare boutique, revealing expert tips and tricks to tie the perfect bow tie.

With almost half (46 per cent) of Brits citing excessive workload as the greatest obstacle to taking regular lunch breaks, Seymour Place First Thursdays will help provide some much-needed rest and relaxation. Lemongrass Boutique Spa will offer 10 per cent off massages and beauty treatments between 10am to 8pm, whilst express nail bar, London Grace, will serve 2 for 1 cocktails with any treatment between 5pm and 7pm.

Home to some of the West Ends’ most exciting eateries, the restaurants on Seymour Place will host a range of exclusive promotions. Diners can head back to the office well-fed, with The Portman pie menu reduced to a special price, and 10 per cent off all food at Corsican pizzeria SANDY’S between 12.30pm and 2pm. Basque grill, Lurra, and tapas bar, Donostia will serve a complimentary cup of coffee during lunch time service, and popular vegetarian restaurant, The Gate will offer a complimentary drink, including freshly squeezed juices and mocktails, with every dish ordered from its lunchtime menu. For those enjoying a more leisurly lunch, modern Italian restaurant, Bernardis will serve a pint of Italian beer to customers who order from the set menu.
