In an age of social media our perception of love is changing – whether it’s Kanye showering Kim with 1,000 roses or a sickly-sweet friend on social media who is constantly hashtagging their #CoupleGoals – we’re expecting more from our relationships than ever before. As a result, we’re at risk of losing sight of what real love is, so dating expert Match is launching an interactive pop-up experience to debunk the myths, remove the filters and inspire couples and singles alike to celebrate a more realistic love - #LoveWithNoFilter.

You won’t be able to miss the event that’s taking place from Thursday 29th November – Saturday 1st December, thanks to kaleidoscopic street art from London-based artist Lakwena expressing #LoveWithNoFilter spanning the front of the Redchurch Room. Working with both words and images, Lakwena borrows techniques from traditional sign-writing and contemporary graphic design to create bold messages of hope in urban landscapes. She’s showcased her work across the world in diverse cities from Miami to London and her latest piece comes to the heart of Shoreditch, an area known for its eclectic street art.

Inside, Match will offer a series of talks from socio-anthropological expert Dr Anna Machin, as well as advice from dating guru Kate Taylor. Dr Anna will talk about the impact of social media on our love lives and how we can maintain a long-lasting relationship, while Kate can offer tips on how to beat dating fatigue and help create a positive mindset for those that need an injection of optimism.

The event aims to reveal the different representations of what love can be and taking a candid approach, act as an antidote to social media-manufactured displays of affection. There will be a display of real couples who have met on Match, sharing what love with no filter means to them.

On the opening night, there’ll be music, snacks and drinks, and a seating area to allow time to browse and contemplate the experience, as well as the chance to win a personalised piece of artwork by Lakwena.

Kate Taylor, Match’s Dating Expert says: “This is a great opportunity for couples and singles to come together and celebrate love in all its forms - from that first kiss, to making it ‘Facebook official’. Everyone will be able to relate to the candid real-life stories, which aim to help us laugh at the fun times and learn from the tough times.
