About the book

Mother of two, Mariam James has recently published a children’s book to promote positive self-image in young black children.

The book called ‘We are all Special’, is a short story of a young boy going through a journey of discovering which features set him apart from others. Inspired through Godly morals and principles, the book guarantees a connection for children to celebrate what society may call flaws, imperfections and weaknesses.

This is the first of many short stories written by the mother of two. The author will seek to include a wider representation of ethnicities in upcoming books so that all children can see themselves in them.

About the Author

As a Children's Author, I aim to inspire our future leaders through my short stories. It's a wonderful yet heavy responsibility to know that us as parents hold the most incredible tools to raise our children and so with that in mind I thought it would be fitting to create a range of books for both parents and children to read to give us a bit of insight. My short stories are inspired through Godly morals and principles based on my faith as a Christian and I seek to include a wider representation of ethnicities in my books so that all of our children can see themselves in them
