It's always a joy to wake up to a wonderful piece of music which you haven't encountered before but which instantly becomes a firm favourite. In our Spring Concert, we're sure you'll discover some such gem among these exceptional choral works.

From the 16th century, we bring you the Lamentations of Robert White, Master of Choristers at Westminster Abbey, specially composed to be sung during Holy Week and a small masterpiece of the Tudor era. From the early 18th century Italian Baroque comes Crucifixus by Antonio Lotti, a motet from a section of the Credo in F.

Finally, from the modern era, we perform two pieces by John Rutter; Britain's most notable contemporary composer of choral church music : the intense and mystical anthem Hymn to the Creator of Light. (dedicated to Herbert Howells) and his Requiem in seven movements with its unforgettable Pie Jesu.

So come out of hibernation and join us for a magical journey of musical awakening.
