Step right up, put on your comfy shoes and take part in London’s finest walking tour. Embark on a journey around the amazing East side of the City of London that is filled with intrigue, mystery, and of course a sprinkling of magic.

A walk through history, following the ancient Roman Wall down to the River, with Chaucer, dissolved Monastic Orders, Pepys, neglected art, clandestine marriages, a secret amazing view of the great River Thames and a lot more - including Magic!

Leyden Gallery’s resident magician David Harry aka The Delusionist has always loved poking round the odd corners of the City and in 2017 qualified in the prestigious and very competitive Corporation of London City Guides course, and is now a proud guide not only for the whole of the Square Mile, but also Stationers' Hall and the newly opened Roman Bathhouse in Billingsgate.

He is also a Freeman of the City of London and a Livery Member of the Worshipful Company of Stationers who date back to 1403.

The walk lasts 90 minutes and will start and finish at Leyden Gallery’s artBAR where the magic continues. You can grab a drink whilst witnessing The Delusionist's most mystifying tricks close-up

You can check travel options at the Transport for London Journey Planner.

I love the city of London and often wonder what went on in the beautiful buildings around me. I took my mum on this walk who loves history and we both thoroughly enjoyed the tour. David is extremely knowledgeable, passionate and funny, he is a great storyteller and even threw in some magic!

We had a super time and I would definitely join another of David's tours..........in fact I have just booked on the next one!

The city of London is jam-packed full of history and intriguing details in every corner, and David really makes it both interesting and fun to walk around - pointing out things you never thought about and impressing you with his knowledge and passion. The tour is well worth the time, you walk away looking at the square mile from a whole new perspective.

David is very knowledgeable and very passionate about his subject, he is also a fantastic storyteller. He shared very interesting history and presented them in a way that held everyone's attention and made us looking forward to what would come next :). I had a fabulous evening and I would consider joining again, taking friends and family along. Thank you David.
