A presentation by Nick Field, former artist in residence at the London Metropolitan Archives, who will delve into the archives to bring to light the colourful and human stories from 700 years of London history - from the notorious Bartholomew Fair and the world's greatest performing cat show, to medieval fashion innovators.

Nick will help us understand what the archives can tell us and how we can navigate this unique but sometimes impenetrable treasure trove - and participants will have the chance to view up close a number of unique items from the archives. After the talk, participants are welcome to explore the archives in their own time.

This event is part of the LMA's Word on the Street festival, and is co-hosted by the Friends of the Geffrye Museum.
