A Shoreditch gallery will host some of the best work by the next generation of artistic talent from all over the world in early-July.
The Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts will stage the annual Degree Show at its Charlotte Road base on July 1-12. The exhibition will feature works including stained glass, painting, ceramics, architecture and geometry by students from across the globe.

Graduates of the school’s two-year Masters Degree programme will present their finest work to be exhibited and sold at the end-of-year event. Those enrolled on the course acquire skills, techniques and critical understanding in a range of traditional arts and crafts alongside associated philosophies. Exhibitors at this year’s show come from all over the world, from Portugal, United States, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Iran, China, Tibet, Taiwan and the UK.

Simon Trethewey, director of studies at The Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, said: “Each year at the Degree Show, our graduating students have the opportunity to demonstrate the high standard of skills they have attained.

“Those exhibiting have absorbed the traditional skills and ethos and succeeded in making beautiful and meaningful work that speaks to a contemporary audience. Their work will reflect skills fundamental to the arts of many of the great traditions of the world.”

The Prince's Foundation was formed in April 2018 as a result of the consolidation of The Great Steward of Scotland’s Dumfries House Trust, The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, The Prince’s Regeneration Trust and The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts. The charity focuses on promoting the built environment, heritage, culture and education projects primarily across the UK while helping people engage in learning experiences that promote confidence and personal development.
