This conference will explore aspects of the First World War following on from the November 1918 Armistice.
Organised by the British Commission for Military History, the National Army Museum and the Western Front Association, this one-day conference will examine the immediate impacts of the First World War, as well as the British Army's subsequent operations and campaigns.
The conference will also reflect on the war's legacy and the different ways it was commemorated during the 2014-18 centenary period.
Speakers will include Professor Sir Hew Strachan, Professor Richard Grayson, General Mungo Melvin, Dr Catriona Pennell and Professor Gary Sheffield.
