Join Ann Witheridge, the founder of London Fine Art Studios, for this lively portrait painting of Army veteran Betty Webb MBE.
Betty Webb served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) from 1941 to 1946. A veteran of the code-breaking establishment at Bletchley Park, Betty was part of a small team working on Japanese messages.
In this lively portrait and storytelling evening, Betty will be telling us about her military career and post-war life, while Ann Witheridge will provide a live commentary on the portrait techniques she is using.
This workshop complements our current exhibitions, The art of persuasion: Wartime posters by Abram Games and Rise of the Lionesses: 70 years of the Women’s Royal Army Corps, and is part of our Artist in Residence programme with London Fine Art Studios.
Ann Witheridge studied History of Art at Cambridge University and is now a professional artist and teacher. She is the founder of London Fine Art Studios.
