Great works for choir are matched by year with voyages in search of Terra Australis, the fabled Great Southern Land, and later explorations charting Australia and Antarctica. The Australian Chamber Choir transports its audience using the oldest instrument on the planet – the human voice. Cultural ambassadors for Australia, the young singers of the ACC tour internationally every two years, engaging audiences with Australian compositions, performed alongside monuments from the choral repertoire. The Australian Chamber Choir was founded in 2007 by its current director, Douglas Lawrence OAM, founder and for 24 years, director of the Choir of Ormond College, University of Melbourne.
