Wallace Chan is joined by Trino Verkade, Founding Trustee of the Sarabande Foundation. The conversation will focus on the importance of education and the passing of skills from one creative to another, and will look into the influence of both the practical and the visionary towards the creation of Wallace Chan’s work.
Verkade was the first employee hired by Alexander McQueen and worked with the designer for over 18 years. She helped to establish and now runs the Sarabande Foundation, launched by McQueen, which supports the UK’s best creative and visionary talent. The Foundation's historic support of avant-garde jewellers and artists chimes with Chan's discipline, leading to their continued collaboration. Wallace Chan has spoken previously at the Sarabande Foundation's prestigious series of talks and events and has donated a work to the foundation’s charity auction on 16th September at LAPADA, co-hosted by Aimee Mullins.
