Celebrating their 40th anniversary, VP Records — the world’s largest reggae label and home to the iconic British label Greensleeves Records — is chronicling its storied history of bringing reggae and dancehall into the international mainstream with a five-day exhibition.

The free exhibition at the Jamaican High Commission will also feature panel discussions on Caribbean music in the UK and its place in the streaming era, featuring celebrity guests including BBC 1xtra’s Seani B, NTS DJ Bigs and Steel Pulse’s Mykaell Riley.

From a humble record store in Kingston, Jamaica, VP Records grew into the international powerhouse of reggae, dancehall and soca it is today, launching the careers of icons like Barrington Levy, Ini Kamoze, Yellowman, Sean Paul, Vybz Kartel and dozens of others.
