The UK’s only national festival of the humanities is back! With more than 250 free events taking place across London and beyond.

The festival’s mission is to make humanities subjects including history, literature, classics, archaeology, philosophy, art history and languages accessible, engaging and fun for all, and to demonstrate and celebrate the relevance of humanities research to society, culture and everyday life. The festival runs in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.

There’s something new for all ages and interests to discover in this year’s ‘Discoveries and Secrets’-themed programme, with events including gallery take-overs, hands-on workshops and behind-the-scenes tours. London events include an evening of comedy at the Grant Museum; a multi-sensory behind-the-scenes tour at the National Theatre; an evening of storytelling and music at the 16th century riverside pub, the Prospect of Whitby; a chance to discuss digital dystopias and play classic arcade games at the Four Quarters in Hackney; a chance to visit a Roman temple in the heart of the city; and much, much more!
