Welcome to Lidl Chateaux Noir; the first ever wine tasting in the dark experience from a UK retailer.

Join us for an exclusive blind wine tasting hosted by Lidl’s Master of Wine, Richard Bampfield, who will guide guests through three different rooms and eight exquisite glasses in order to help tasters learn how to identify real quality wine – even in the dark!

Guests will start in the ‘Discombobulation Chamber’ – a candy cane striped space which throws off the senses with clever tricks of scale.

Tasters will then move through to the ‘Cellar Noir’ where they will be the first to experience a blind wine tasting journey hosted by Lidl's Master of Wine Richard Bampfield, who will guide their palates through eight superb glasses of wine served by waiters wearing night vision goggles.

By taking away sight, here guests will learn how to identify real quality wine, away from preconceptions of bottle design, labels, colour or price.

Once guests have finished their tasting, they will then be guided into the Salle de Noel – a festive wonderland decked out with real Christmas trees, mince pies, and a cheeseboard of snacks. This room will also provide an opportunity for guests to purchase their favourite wines they will have just tasted.

Tickets to the event cost £4 plus an extra 90p booking fee, with all proceeds going to the NSPCC to help keep children in the UK safe. Included in the £4 ticket price is entry to the event, eight 75ml taster glasses of wine and light nibbles.
