Still within the twelve days of Christmas, Twickenham Choral performs Honegger’s intriguing Christmas Cantata, based on popular and liturgical themes and notable for its medley of traditional carols in French, German and Latin. On either side will be heard Poulenc’s two best-loved choral works, the Gloria and the Stabat Mater, both reflecting his deep and joyful faith, solemn and exuberant in turn.
