Audible is excited to announce the latest Audible Live event to mark the launch of its next flagship Audible Original podcast – The Sun King. To celebrate, Audible will be hosting a live Q&A with the show’s presenter, David Dimbleby at the Barbican on 27th November.

The Sun King charts the seemingly inexorable rise of Rupert Murdoch, beginning when the 38-year-old Australian newspaper executive arrived in London in 1968 and he and Dimbleby met for the first time. Murdoch is an innovator who has re-shaped a media industry across continents, from Australia to the UK to the US. He is a disruptor who has changed the nature of our politics with a steadfast focus on giving the people what he believes they want. But to what extent has Murdoch shaped our modern world? Has he created new audiences, or given existing, under-served audiences a voice? And what motivates the media mogul? Money or power?

Audible Live: The Sun King will see David Dimbleby joined on stage by James Graham, the Olivier Award-winning playwright behind Ink, a West End and Broadway sensation which dramatises Murdoch’s early years and his arrival in the UK with the Q&A is hosted by Miranda Sawyer, The Observer’s chief audio critic.
