The 2019 general election saw the debate around private school reform shoot up agenda of the national conversation. Now is the time to kick-start a conversation around practical, exciting and solution-focused policies!

Private School Policy Reform (PSPR – a non-party affiliated thinktank) is committed to shining a light on a variety of options that could help level the UK's educational playing field. On Monday 9th March, PSPR will gather a panel education leaders and influencers at a London school to discuss the respective merits of a range of proposals including, but by no means limited to, the removal of charitable status, huge expansion of bursaries, university quotas and conversion of private schools to state schools through a variety of routes.

Speakers

Carl Smith is the principal of Casterton College, a leading state school in the East Midlands

Hans Broekman is the principal of Liverpool College, an 'outstanding' state academy which converted from a former HMC independent school in 2013

Dan Townsend is a state school history teacher in Dulwich and former private school pupil

Adam D'Souza is a private senior school teacher and founder of a collaborative staff development programme shortlisted for a TES Independent Schools Award for community impact

David Benson is the founding principal of Kensington Aldridge Academy and has been named by TES as one if the '10 most influential people in education'

The debate will be chaired by Kate Clanchy, an award-winning poet, writer and teacher with a keen interest in the private school reform debate.
