Wembley Park hosts immersive art installation, Colourscape

Following last year’s hugely popular visit, Colourscape, an immersive weekend of music and dance for all the family, will return to Wembley Park - North West London’s cultural neighbourhood - during Easter Bank Holiday, 8th-13th April.

Colourscape, the labyrinth of colour and light, will be situated on Wembley Park Boulevard (next to London Designer Outlet) between 11am - 5pm. Originally created by artist Peter Jones in the early 70s, Colourscape is a huge walk-in structure of many interlinked chambers. Visitors will step into a psychedelic maze of light to discover a large silver dome and live musicians playing instruments from Tibet, China and Mongolia whilst dancers lead guests on a journey of colour.

This year’s Colourscape is presented in support of learning disability charity, Brent Mencap. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children.* All proceeds will go towards supporting people of all ages who have learning disabilities. The charity believes that everyone is entitled to an active and fulfilling existence, full human and civil rights, and to feel valued as a member of the community. Brent Mencap seek to reduce the disadvantage and discrimination experienced by children and adults with a learning disability.

Designed over 30 years ago to give the experience of being “wrapped in a rainbow”, visitors will be given special coloured capes to wear so they blend into the interactive cornucopia of colour. Colourscape has become synonymous with creating immersive, colourful experiences for everyone around the globe, popping up at events such as the Vienna Festival of Youth, Cologne for the World Cup and Turku for European Capital of Culture.

Visitors to Colourscape at Wembley Park should be prepared to be taken on a journey through the vast psychedelic network of light, space and sound.
