Wimbledon Art Fair Online

• Wimbledon Art Fair goes online this May
• A unique chance to discover and buy art from 150 of London’s most talented artists and makers
• The online fair will include a special online exhibition, Art SOS, showcasing artwork made in response to the coronavirus
• Artists and makers showcase powerful works inspired by new realities such as social distancing, self-isolation, panic buying, and a renewed sense of global solidarity

London’s professional artists will showcase powerful and moving works in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, as part of Wimbledon Art Fair Online from 14 to 17 May 2020.

The fair, which will be a virtual event for the first time in 20 years due to the coronavirus outbreak, will include an online exhibition of thought-provoking artworks that depict defining moments of the epidemic in Britain. Artists will be donating a percentage of their total sales in support of the NHS & St Georges hospital, Tooting.

From the brave risks of frontline staff, living apart together, the importance of contact, to the sorrows of social distancing, fear of the invisible danger, and the nation’s obsession with loo roll, Art SOS will explore the extreme human emotions which are being exposed during this global crisis.

Highlights of the Art SOS exhibition include: Georgia Kitty Harris’s ‘The Isolation Archive’ - a series of portraits documenting how we’re all living apart together; a series of captivating portraits from Mike Thebridge’s with face masks as a permanent reminder of the invisible danger; Sophie Tea’s ‘Take What You Need’ series – a homage to Britain’s favourite stock-piling item, toilet roll; and Roberta Volpe and Nicola Troll’s works exploring issues around social distancing.

The Wimbledon Art Fair Online takes place from May 14-17, featuring works from professional artists from painting to ceramics, textiles, sculpture, printing and more.
