Greenwich Peninsula, London’s most exciting cultural destination, will be celebrating the city’s resilient spirit with an eclectic virtual summer programme, The Peninsulist Presents. Taking place between July-September, the cultural series includes music, art, talks, food, entertainment and a few life hacks for good measure, through a series of community inspired digital experiences. The programme features a cast of UK and international interdisciplinary artists and will be streamed for free on Greenwich Peninsula’s digital channels @ThePeninsulist.

On Friday 17th July at 7pm, NYC-based artist, Joan As Police Woman will be performing for The Peninsulist Presents: Friday Sessions. Joan will also be talking to very special friends and collaborators, John Cale and Meshell Ndegeocello. After landing in Brooklyn, NYC, Joan as Police Woman began working as a session musician, playing her violin across every genre from Haitian rhythms to Pop and R&B. In 2002, Joan As Police Woman was born, named in homage to the 1970s television cop show starring Angie Dickinson. Her first record, Real Life, earned the band “Best Rock and Pop Album,” at the Independent Music Awards. Her second album, To Survive, was chosen in 2008, as one of Q Magazine’s, “Albums of the Year.”
