We are delighted to announce the world premiere of a new adaptation of The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. This magical book has been re-worked into an enchanting piece for narrator and orchestra by Philip Mackenzie. In the manner of Peter and the Wolf, each character in the tale is represented by a different instrument of the orchestra – any guesses what the Gruffalo will be played by?
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without The Snowman and what better way to see this iconic film than with a live symphony orchestra providing the soundtrack and guest soloist, eleven-year-old Alice Mackenzie singing ‘Walking in the Air’?
Louis Mander and Mark Webber have teamed up to create a hilarious brand new work based on Kipling’s Just So Stories as a way of introducing children to the sounds of an orchestra.
The perfect Christmas treat for all the family!
This performance is family-friendly. Babes in arms (children up to 2 years of age) are permitted to share a seat with each full paying adult. Children aged 2 years or more will require a paid ticket and seat. Booster seats are available on request.
