Following the government’s roadmap announcement, the team behind Pub in the Park are excited to introduce brand new event: The Alfresco Theatre Drive-in Tour! In June, The Alfresco Theatre will be hitting West London with a tasty mix of big-screen movies, comedy gigs, live theatre and exciting music acts - all served alongside one-off dishes from some of the UK’s most exciting and well-known chefs! Designed as an event for the times, ready for visitors to book now with confidence, the travelling theatre will kick off as a Covid-compliant drive-in experience, with the setup relaxing as lockdown rules relax; eventually allowing visitors to sit outside in their own private patch to enjoy the show. At The Alfresco Theatre, foodie fanatics will be able to tuck into an exclusive menu lovingly crafted by superstar chefs Tom Kerridge, Rick Stein, Atul Kochhar, Paul Ainsworth and Jason Atherton, all while sipping a selection of craft cocktails, beers or wine from the roaming bar. There will also be a selection of alcohol-free drinks for the designated drivers, so everyone can enjoy a great day or night out. Friday nights at the Theatre will play host to Mark Watson’s Carpool Comedy Club, where comedy fans will be able to enjoy a stellar line-up of some of the best comedy acts in the UK. The evening will feature laugh-out-loud sets from the likes of Nish Kumar, Dara Ó Briain, Ed Byrne, Angela Barnes Nina Conti, Marcus Brigstocke, Rachel Parris,* - with each gig featuring an extended set from Mark himself. Mark says: 'I'm really excited that Carpool Comedy Club is back! We had a great time last year, bringing live comedy safely to the Drive & Dine tour, and we were overwhelmed both by the demand and by the response from audiences. This time round, there'll be more from me and I've taken my pick of some of last year's favourites and added some new big-hitters to the mix. I can't wait to host what will be another memorable series of summer comedy nights'. Saturday nights will see the return of live music, as fun-loving spice girl tribute act SPICE will open for the world’s premier Beatles band, The Bootleg Beatles. Described as “an absolute must for Beatlemaniacs of all ages” the critically acclaimed show traces the Fab Four's journey through the swinging 60s - complete with authentic period costumes and instruments, witty stage banter and “inflection perfect” vocals. Our Drive & Dine Cinema features a fantastic line-up of feelgood flicks - like Dirty Dancing and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – alongside award-winning blockbusters like Jo Jo Rabbit, Bohemian Rhapsody and Jurassic Park. Movie goers will also be able to sing their hearts out with special sing-along versions of The Greatest Showman and Grease, with on-screen lyrics to make sure they never miss a beat. Not forgetting the little ones too, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s incredibly popular The Gruffalo will be making a special appearance in the musical adaptation live on stage. Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood in Tall Stories’ production of the family favourite picture book.
