Keep your diary clear this June, as Canary Wharf kicks off the summer with an events calendar like nowhere else in the Capital. Alongside an outdoor events programme brimming with sport, music, a family festival and art, the Canary Wharf estate will be fully open – with over 300 shops, bars and restaurants, as well as gyms, cinema and grocery stores - all accessible within 15 minutes’ walk of one another.

With a summer like no other on the horizon, highlights include:

‘Sun Pavilion’, Morag Myerscough installation, from now – end October
London-based artist and designer Morag Myerscough is set to emblazon Montgomery Square with her latest stunning installation, ‘Sun Pavilion’. Bursting onto the Estate, Myerscough’s vibrant shapes and colours will decorate the square and harness the vigour and optimism of Londoners this summer. The Sun Pavilion will be the ideal spot to grab a drink and safely catch up with friends and loved ones through until October.

Summer Screens, 7th June – 24th September (various dates)
For those looking to get back into the swing of a summer of sport, look no further than Canary Wharf’s outdoor screens found in Canada Square Park and Cabot Square. From the Olympics to Wimbledon, Londoners can soak up the sun and enjoy a quintessentially British sporting summer, whilst sampling an array of takeout food and drinks from across the Estate.

Canary Wharf’s Summer Screens will also host the perfect outdoor cinema experience, showing a range of iconic films throughout September evenings. More information can be found on the Canary Wharf website in the coming months.

Summer Family Festival, Saturday 29th – Sunday 30th May and Saturday 5th, Saturday 12th, Sunday 20th and Saturday 26th June
Canary Wharf will host a Summer Family Festival encompassing theatre, music, movies and workshops to keep both parents and children entertained. Whether it’s rolling up sleeves and creating something artsy or relaxing to some family favourite films, there’s something for all.

Outdoor entertainment (various dates)
With Londoners deprived of live music and theatre throughout the last year, Canary Wharf is pulling out all the stops to bring a host of cultural events onto the Estate. From the Outdoor Theatre located in Westferry Circus, which calls for spectators to enjoy classics from The Importance of Being Earnest to Jayne Eyre, to the Summer Concerts which will see a number of up-and-coming artists claim the stages in Jubilee Park and Canada Square Park.

The Lunch Market, Thursday 24 June – Thursday 16 September
For foodies looking for something new to try on their lunch break, the Estate will also be home to a series of 13 Lunch Markets - offering a range of fresh dishes and street food options from around the world.

Minigolf & Ping Pong, throughout summer
Why not try a spot of free Minigolf in between shopping or grabbing a bite to eat? Or challenge friends and family to a game of ping pong, with both found in Columbus Courtyard and Cabot Square respectively, between 12-6pm each day.

Lucie Moore, Group Arts + Events Manager at Canary Wharf comments: “We’ve looked to create a summer events calendar which caters for everyone – whether you want to bask in colour (and the sun!) with Morag Myerscough’s stunning installation, grab a Pimm’s with pals for Wimbledon or immerse yourself in outdoor performances on a summer evening, Canary Wharf is the place to be.”

The summer calendar compliments Canary Wharf’s existing culture programme, which includes
one of the UK’s largest collections of public art, with more than 70 permanent works by over 50 world-renowned artists and craftsmen.
