SEGA to bring its official Olympics Video Game to life
with TeamGB Olympians at live gaming area in London this month

LONDON, UK – Video games giant SEGA will be launch its official Tokyo 2020: Olympics game with leading TeamGB Olympics athletes, Iwan Thomas, Katherine Merry, Linford Christie and Joanna Rowsell, at an exclusive gaming zone at the official TeamGB Fanzone at Westfield Shepherds Bush, London this month. Shoppers will be invited to play the game, meet a TeamGB athlete and enjoy the themed sporting activities for an action-packed family day out at the TeamGB Fanzone .
The game is a compilation of 18 Olympic sport mini-games including running, swimming, boxing, hurdling, relay racing, football, beach volleyball, tennis, table tennis, sport climbing, basketball, judo, BMX biking and long jump.
Other activities provided by SEGA include table tennis, personalised video game inlays signed by TeamGB stars, opportunities to play the game against TeamGB athletes, which will be live-streamed on the big screen, alongside visits from Sonic the Hedgehog.
The TeamGB Fanzone is open for 17 days from 23rd July 2021 to 8th August 2021. It is free to enter and includes a whole host of fun activities for families and sports enthusiasts.
TeamGB Olympians will be visiting the SEGA gaming area on the following days between 1200 - 1800hrs.
• Iwan Thomas (current UK 400m record holder and Olympic medallist, Athletics) and Katherine Merry (Bronze Olympic medallist, Athletics), Saturday 24th July between 1200 - 1800.
• Iwan Thomas on Sunday 25th July between 1200 - 1800.
• Linford Christie (Current British record holder 100m; Gold and Silver Olympic medallist, Athletics) and Joanna Rowsell (Double Olympic Gold medallist, Cycling) on Saturday 31st July between 1200 - 1800.
• Iwan Thomas (current UK 400m record holder and Olympic medallist, Athletics) on Sunday 1st August between 1200 - 1800.
