Served from kegs and delivered through an authentic tap system, the pop-up will see some of the nation’s favourite tequila cocktails given the full taproom treatment adopting quirky off-the-wall monikers, such as Marg My Words (Margarita) and Mexican Dynamite (Tequila & Tonic)

This September plans for boozy brunches, after-work drinks, and nights out on the town will soon be relocated because the coolest social cliques (including you, yes you!) will be swapping their favourite pale ales, IPAs and all-beers-brewed-in-between for refreshing tequila cocktails, courtesy of the world’s first tequila taproom: the Jose Cuervo Tequila Taproom. Yes, tequila served from taps, what a great idea I hear you say!

Following the explosion in popularity of craft ale and taprooms, of all shapes and sizes, popping up all over the UK, Jose Cuervo is tapping into this trend (see what we did there) and serving tequila fans their favourite refreshing cocktails like never before. Welcome to the dawning of a new age of tequila cocktails and long serves, a place to enjoy a unique, refreshing, ice-cold cocktail experience, The Jose Cuervo Tequila Taproom!

A crack team consisting of a Tequila Educator, cocktail scientists, and some of the UK’s leading engineers (in our eyes) developed and built this unique tap system. A system that can seamlessly deliver hundreds of pre-batched cocktails, allowing tequila fans to quite literally quench their thirst ‘on tap’.

The Jose Cuervo Tequila Taproom will emit explosions of colour throughout the space ensuring every corner provides an ‘Instagrammable’ moment. It will be the most vibrant taproom ever created! Very on trend this summer if you ask us. With brightly coloured furniture, bold and vibrant wall art, and an unmissable colourful tap bar, it is set to brighten up the end of summer! To top it all off, there will also be table games and top-quality DJs banging out tune after tune. You won’t want to miss out!

Taking inspiration from the often quirky, tongue-in-cheek names given to IPAs, each classic tequila cocktail at the taprooms has been ‘refreshed’ and given a fun, exclusive name. Well, we think so anyway!

The Tommy’s Margarita has been swapped out for a ‘Marg My Words’, the Tequila & Tonic has been transformed into a ‘Mexican Dynamite’ and to snap up a Tequila & Lemonade fans better ask for a ‘Luchador Lemonade’. While those craving a cheeky Tequila & Soda will find themselves sipping on a ‘Soda El Dorado’ and, for those who wish to try something truly Mexican, can opt for a ‘Playa Del Paloma’ – that’s Paloma to you!

What’s more, like any regular taproom experience, the Jose Cuervo Tequila Taproom will have in-house Tequila Educator, Oliver Pergl, on-hand to provide visitors with a tequila masterclass. This masterclass will offer tequila fans the opportunity to one-up and impress their friends when it comes to their tequila knowledge. Eager event-goers can book masterclasses in advance. Free to enter pop-up kicks-off in Shoreditch, East London from Friday 10th September to Sunday 12th September, before packing up the tequila taps and heading off to Bristol for the final leg from Friday 17th September until Sunday 19th September. No need to book, simply walk in, choose your cocktail and enjoy your new favourite taproom!

To honour the launch, Tequila Educator Oliver Pergl has shared the bespoke Jose Cuervo Taproom Cocktail recipes that will be used at the pop-ups – should you wish to recreate them. A few selects can be seen below. Note, these recipes have been curated based on a single serving. If you wish to create a batch to enjoy with friends, simply multiply each ingredient by the number of thirsty compadres!

Marg My Words
Ingredients:
35ml Jose Cuervo Especial Silver
30ml Fresh Lime Juice
15ml Agave Nectar
Method: Shake all ingredients hard with ice and strain into an ice-filled Rocks Glass.
Garnish: Lime Wedge

Mexican Dynamite
Ingredients:
35ml Jose Cuervo Especial Silver
5ml Fresh Lime Juice
Classic Tonic Water
Method: Combine all ingredients together in a Highball Glass with Ice.
Garnish: Lime Wedge

Luchador Lemonade
Ingredients:
35ml Jose Cuervo Especial Silver
5ml Fresh Lemon Juice
Clear Lemonade
Method: Combine all ingredients together in a Highball Glass with Ice.
Garnish: Lemon & Lime Wedge
