Discover new dance works and a new way of watching dance with Springback Ringside.
Aerowaves’ new Virtual Reality project gathers a group of spectators to watch emerging European choreographers’ exciting new work in virtual reality.

Can we feel kinetic empathy through VR? Far from trying to replace physical and live performance, this initiative aims to connect artists and audiences across Europe in an immersive way, emphasising the communal ritual of seeing and experiencing dance.

Together with Aerowaves artists, Springback Production (Enya Belak) and Pilot Media (Igor Crnković) are researching the possibilities of filming dance in Virtual Reality as a way of documenting work – as opposed to creating work specially for this technology.

Partners include; En-Knap Španski Borci Cultural Centre (Ljubljana, Slovenia), the Croatian Cultural Centre (Rijeka, Croatia), Tanec Praha (Prague, Czech Republic) and The Place (London, UK).

You can experience three performances: Joy Alpuerto Ritter's BABAE, Viktor Černický's Pli and Rhys Dennis & Waddah Sinada / FUBUNATION's Ruins, at The Place through VR and explore dance through this immersive medium.
