Celebrate Old Fashioned Week with Santa Teresa 1796 x TT Liquor

This November, the award-winning, hand crafted and expertly blended Venezuelan Santa Teresa 1796 aged rum, has reinvented The Old Fashioned. Traditionally a mix of bourbon and bitters, Santa Teresa’s unique tasting notes make it the ideal accompaniment to a contemporary Old Fashioned.

The ideal whisky alternative, Santa Teresa is partnering with experiential spirits experts at TT Liquor and Fitzrovia favourite Norma to launch a special Santa Teresa 1796 Old Fashioned. Available from TT Liquor from now -10th November [RRP £10] and in Norma for the first week of November [RRP £11], each take on the Old Fashioned utilises Santa Teresa’s fruity aroma with notes of wood complementing a unique flavour of nuts, leather, vanilla, cinnamon, dark chocolate, prunes and a hint of honey and pepper as a unique base for the usually whiskey based cocktail.

A WHISKY DRINKER’S RUM
Dark spirits and Old-Fashioned lovers can also head to TT Liquor’s Shoreditch location for a unique Cane & Grain workshop on Tuesday 9 November – where whisky drinkers can taste Santa Teresa ‘cane’ Solera-method rum next to Scotch ‘grain’ whisky in the ultimate spirits taste off.

Or head to the ‘Thursday Tastings’ where, for the price of a cocktail on Thursday 4 November, you will be taken through a guided tasting of the rum - Exploring the variety of flavours and aromas and learning about Santa Teresa 1796’s unique Solera Method.

A TASTE OF THE SOLERA
Aged through a traditional Solera Method, usually used in sherry production, each bottle of Santa Teresa 1796 has some of the very first 1796 cask running through it as the original cask was never emptied. Instead, each time a bottle is drawn, the cask is topped up with a slightly younger rum and this process is repeated with each and every bottle of Santa Teresa 1796. Combining the craft and tradition associated with whisky and the spontaneity and sociability of the rum category, Santa Teresa 1796 is the perfect rum for whisky aficionados looking to try something new and rum enthusiasts alike.
