Black LGBTQ+ and Black QUEEN's Writing and Art workshops and Exhibition
About this event
About this event
At the Bernie Grant Arts Centre we believe that it’s important for all communities to see themselves reflected in the Jubilee weekend celebrations. We’ve been awarded funding from @aceagram’s #LetsCreate Jubilee Fund and @LottoGoodCauses to host creative and
cultural events which will empower notions of queen and queendom.
In the run up to the Jubilee weekend artist Veronica McKenzie will lead writing workshops for local Black LGBTQI+ QUEENS ,residents focussing on notions of identity, race, gender and sexuality. Surreal artist Rohan Clarke will be running art workshops alongside these writing workshops. Work will be exhibited on Jubilee day at Bernie Grant Arts Centre. We will also be partnering with Arts Bridge charity during this period.
If you would like to take part, please note that you must be available to take part in all 3 sessions.
