Iconic arts and literary magazine Ambit are launching a special limited edition of their sister magazine ‘Ambit Pop’, guest edited by Savage Pencil (best known for his artwork for leading avant garde musicians including Nick Cave, Sonic Youth, Lydia Lunch and The Fall).

Taking place at Rough Trade East on 19th July, the packed evening will include a short film screening about Savage Pencil’s work, and performances from the magazine’s contributors, MELTAOT (SavX & Sharon Gal), The Jonny Halifax Invocation and Vagrant Lovers. There will also be a Make Yer Own Merch workshop, and another on automatic drawing / ‘how to channel the creative juju’ run by Barbara Frost and Savage Pencil.

Every attendee receives a copy of the brand new Ambit Pop upon arrival, with free neon yellow Ambit tote bags for first arrivals. It’s set to be an incredible evening of counterculture and creative intrigue.

The event is part of the ‘Ambit Pop’ tour — which sees the magazine pop up in cities across the UK throughout July.
