In 2014 #Gamergate started trending. The movement it spawned would lead to an international resurgence in white nationalism, the election of Donald Trump and thousands of deaths in right-wing terrorist attacks. Red Pill is about how we got here, telling the origin story of the alt-right through the eyes of one young man’s indoctrination into it.

When Chris, a nerdy young man with few prospects, gets rejected romantically by his best friend Cassie he starts isolating himself more and more online where the nascent alt-right is waiting....and looking for recruits.

This “insightful, intense and engrossing” political drama shines a light on the origins of the most seismic, yet least understood, political movement of our times. Red Pill takes its audience on a journey of radicalisation to the darkest corners of the internet, dramatising the chilling story of how the far-right used #Gamergate to indoctrinate millions of young people into its hateful, genocidal, fascist ideology.
