Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum has collaborated with the iconic London Jazz Festival to showcase the influence of Jamaica on the vibrant British jazz scene.

The London Jazz Festival will feature some of the UK’s most exciting up and coming talent, with Appleton Estate enlisting a trio of energetic artists, and pairing them with an expert bar team, to create a series that will get you on your feet. Each artist will have their own unique and fresh take on the genre, and their own stories on how Jamaica has influenced their sound.

The events will be hosted at some of London’s best live music venues, where attendees will have the chance to experience the exciting new sounds coming out of the UK, with a Jamacia Rum Mai Tai in hand.

The artist line-up includes:
• Dave Okumu & The 7 Generations, Bush Hall, Thursday 16th, 7:30PM - singer-songwriter that uses his artistry to deliver powerful messaging through his lyrics, combining Jazz and Soul to create a fusion of sound.
• cktrl Bush Hall, Friday 17th, 7:30PM - cktrl brings a potent and pure vision into focus – one that continues his passionate celebration of Black artistry and builds on his raw musicianship.
• Summer Pearl Lower Third, Saturday 18th, 7:30PM - singer song that blends Jazz, Soul, and Hip-Hop to create a fusion of genres.
• Marcus Joseph, Trailer Happiness, Sunday 19th, 7:30PM - Musician and spoken word artist Marcus Joseph aspires to be an instrument of change. His songs charged with the righteous energy of reggae music and uplifting saxophone

The Appleton Estate Jazz Sessions will present the latest amalgamation of British sounds with Jamaican roots. Music, like rum, is a central pillar of Jamaican culture, with Jazz having inspired 1960s Jamaican sound systems and musicians. These ties and deep-rooted influences are generating a fresh new approach to the genre, one of vibrancy and liveliness that the Appleton Estate Jazz Sessions look to hero.

Speaking on the partnership, Marina Santos, Campari Group UK Marketing Director, said: “We’re proud to partner with EFG London Jazz Festival this year and support the influential contribution that Jamaica has had on this special genre of music in the UK. At Appleton Estate, we are thrilled to support bringing these landmark Jazz sessions to London and provide a platform for new UK Jazz artists to truly thrive. It’s no secret that Jazz and rum are a great match. Appleton Estate’s iconic Mai Tai pairs perfectly with the energetic occasion that is live Jazz, especially with the exceptional calibre of talent we have involved.”
