To celebrate the Year of Czech Music, the Czech Centre is proud to host a concert of Czech music by the London Woodwind Orchestra to launch Chromosphere, a new album showcasing the woodwind section of the Czech Philharmonic, conducted by Shea Lolin and recorded in Prague’s iconic Dvořák Hall.

A UK team comprising Christopher Hussey (producer), Shea Lolin (conductor) and Jonas Persson (sound engineer) have worked with Czech Philharmonic and Janáček Philharmonic orchestras since 2013, producing several prestigious and award-winning recordings.

The launch of Chromosphere marks a significant milestone in the team's efforts to fuse the finest talents from the UK and the Czech Republic. The orchestra's distinctive sound, under the baton of conductor Shea Lolin, has brought a new and innovative exploration of the woodwind orchestra repertoire.

The launch will include a live performance of a selection of works from the new album, other recordings made in 2023 and a celebration of the 200thAnniversary of Smetana’s birth. The performance is followed by a drinks reception.
