With the nation set to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee this summer, Soho-based fish and chip shop Golden Union is gearing up to celebrate the best of British with their very own oh-so-terribly-British street party over the weekend of 2nd – 6th June where there will be bunting, balloons and Pimm’s a-plenty.
The weekend will see the famous chippy appropriately rename itself ‘Diamond Union’ in a respective nod to Her Majesty’s 60-year reign and kids will be able to eat for free.
Adorned with bunting and balloons galore Golden Union will offer people the opportunity to soak up the celebrations in in Her Majesty’s honour; adults can sup on the British summertime staple of Pimms, whilst the kids are kept happy with a free meal of sausage, fish bites or scampi and chips with a side of baked beans, coleslaw or mushy peas with every adult meal bought.
So if you head down to Golden Union on Poland Street you are sure to get swept up into Jubilee fever, and what better way to celebrate this very British of occasions than with none other than the very British dish, fish and chips?
