Former street-children from Nepal perform dance-theatre piece

Ten former street-children - five boys and five girls aged eight to 21 - from Nepal, raised and educated by the ROKPA charity in Kathmandu, tell their magical story through a piece of expertly choreographed dance theatre.

The show tells the story of a group of kids destitute and impoverished, who are plucked from the streets of Nepal. Their individual stories are brought together on the stage in a dramatic and emotional spectacle that invites the audience to share their wonderful, inspirational and uplifting journeys. They have been coached by the Vice President and co-founder of ROKPA, Swiss actress Lea Wyler, who was herself instrumental in setting up the orphanage in Kathmandu, which is now the children's home. Their dance-play set to music by World-renowned harpist Andreas Vollenweider contains elements of traditional Nepalese dance and costumes, but also has its modern moments such as when two of the younger boys start rapping during a classroom scene.
