AMAZING STREET ART COMES TO ROYAL BOROUGH STREETS

The streets and public spaces of Kensington and Chelsea will provide the backdrop for a fortnight of interactive arts, drama and music during the sixth InTRANSIT Festival of Arts (14 to 27 July).

Organised by the Council this year’s festival reflects the Olympic spirit with many of the events combining artistic creativity with physical activity such as biking and walking and parkour running.

Some of the highlights of the festival will be a Portobello Arts Day, the Big Dance Bus on the King’s Road and an amazing large-scale three dimensional illusionistic street painting at Portobello Square by the internationally renowned street artist Edgar Mueller.

Councillor Nick Paget-Brown, Deputy Leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, said: “InTRANSIT goes from strength to strength and this year’s programme looks like a lot of fun.

“There really is something in it for everyone, adult and child alike. You don’t get too many opportunities to tame dragons or attend Suffragette rallies on Portobello Road or head down to the King’s Road for a dance workshop brought to you by a classic Routemaster bus, so find out more about what InTRANSIT has to offer and come along and get involved.”
