Being local to the area I have to admit that Marylebone has its share of pubs but what we lack is a really good gastropub. Being a regular at the Anchor down at Waterloo I've been waiting to get something similar closer to home and finally its arrived. We went to the Perseverance for a quickie dinner which soon became a 5 hour feast, 3 courses with lashings of great wine. The food is fantastic, terrine to start, gorgeous lamb and then the puddings which were quite frankly amazing. I'm not normally a pudding person but I found myself getting stuck in without hesitation. It's a real step in the right direction for Marylebone and I'll be going back sharpish. Well done chaps, a really great pub with a magnificent future ahead.

I've only been to this pub once since the new owners took over late last year. The dining room was yet to open as it was still being decorated but they were serving food downstairs and they had lovely on-site cooked breads etc. Unfortunately we were unable to stop for a full meal (time constraints) but they did have hand cooked crisps which were YUM! And we will definitely go back as we know just how good Justin Aubrey's cooking is!

And the decoration of the interior is simple and elegant and sympathetic to the original building. Very impressed. Can't wait to make this one of my regular visits in London!

A great traditional pub, good Green King IPA! got a room above, where you can catch some cracking musicians play. normally open mic on mondays, and booked acoustic acts on Fridays.
