The Green Cafe Bar

Went to the Green Cafe Bar on Sunday 6th July. We asked the bar staff if they would be showing the Wimbledon mens final on TV. She said YES so we decided we would stay there as it was very quiet. At this time there were 4 of us but we were going to be joined by another 6 - 8 people later on. We ordered 3 beers and one bottle of wine and sat down waiting for the Tennis to begin. There were a couple sitting on a sofa with one coffee mug which must have been empty as it was not touched for a long, long time. The couple were watching the Grand Prix. Because the barmaid asked them to watch the bar we presumed that they must be something to do with the Bar, maybe even Management.
I checked on my iphone and it said that the tennis had begun. We asked the barmaid if she could put the tennis on the TV. She went over to the couple and asked them but the man said to her she could not change it until the Grand Prix had finished. We decided at this stage is it better to please 4 people who were about to order more drinks and food and to be joined by others later or to keep the TV on for the Grand Prix. We decided to go to Finnegans Wake to watch the tennis where we were pleasantly surprised to see so many screens, even one outdoors for the smokers. obviously The Green does not need customers but I am sure that Finnegans Wake were happy to receive our money instead. We shall not return to the Green again, thanks to the Management who are more concerned about themselves than customers.
