From both upcoming and established choreographers, each dance piece explores the emotional attachments we form with our possessions, ranging from trinkets and treasures to technology and chairs. Which would we hate to lose more, the phone we rely on every day or our grandmother’s ring that never leaves its box?

Artistic Director, David Murley, presents a new piece Seated. Why is a matriarch's throne chair so powerful? And how an American diner stool can bring people together. French choreographer, Anthony Kurt-Gabel, creates a piece titled after the Baudelaire poem, À une passante, exploring the intense imaginary journey of two people who catch sight of each other, but realise they will never meet. Chappell's piece, Into Decay, explores the meaning and attachments we place on objects in our lives - gadgets, gizmos, sentimental things, and the things we cannot live without.

The Object of my Affection opens at the Shaw Theatre in London on the 27th April, before touring. For more details on the show, and to book tickets, please visit http://www.murleydance.com/#!whats-on/c9f4
