Back in 2000, England were thoroughly disappointing when they crashed out of a major football tournament, while Chelsea won the FA Cup; Ronan Keating was at number one; Ridley Scott unleashed Gladiator at the cinema; the Ford Focus was the top selling car, and the cost of fuel hit an all time high. Ten years on, history has repeated itself in the football, Ronan has been number one with Boyzone, Ridley Scott turned his attention to a Robin Hood blockbuster, the Ford Focus is still a top five bestseller, and perhaps most depressingly the cost of fuel has hit a new all-time high. In many ways things haven’t changed much in ten years, especially for the motorist, although the kit in our cars has changed beyond recognition: sat navs have replaced the road atlas, Ronan’s on an iPod rather than CD, and the kids are watching films on portable DVD players rather than playing I-Spy.

One thing that definitely hasn’t changed is how we buy car insurance - elephant.co.uk launched in 2000 and it’s still providing seriously good car insurance. And to mark its 10th birthday everyone who buys or renews their car insurance with elephant.co.uk in August will have the chance to win their premium back.*

To celebrate their 10th birthday elephant.co.uk are offering one lucky winner an Ipod & Ipod trip for their car.

*Up to £1,000. Terms and Conditions apply. Available at elephant.co.uk.
