Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I needed some help with screw threads on a model boiler I was rebuilding. They quickly solved the problem - I couldn’t thank them enough.

I visited about a year ago and found Incredibly helpful staff. No matter the value of what you are looking for, if you need it they will do all they can to help you. It is a level of commitment that belongs to another era, you are traveling back in time when stepping into this place.

A treasure trove of tools run by people who know how to use them

First class engineering tool shop with people who know what they are talking about and are liberal with useful advice. They will have the unusual tool or part in just the right size. An engineer's treasure chest.

I signed up here just so I could write a review for Belton and Slade.

The staff are immensely helpful, patient and knowledgeable. It's obvious that their main goal is to provide a high quality of service, which is what keeps me going back there. As someone with very little DIY experience, I've learned a huge amount from these guys, and I always leave with exactly the right parts for the job. Staff at larger hardware stores are sometimes knowledgeable, but often not. So it's always a gamble whether you'll get a good service from one of the large chains. At Belton and Slade I know that every staff member is an expert, so it's never a wasted trip.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff in this tardis of a shop - it doesn't look like much from the outside but they'll almost certainly have something that will solve whatever problem you may have. Places like this are becoming a rarity so do yourself and the community a favour and support this business.

Belton and Slade is a treasure trove of useful things - I've just rung to ask about double-sided waterproof tape, and of course they've got some - just off to collect it now. Always great service - thank you.

good old fashioned service, they have everything you would want at a hardware store and if they dont have it they will figure out what you can use instead which will work. They are always my first choice of places to go when I need something!!
