Obtuse and unhelpful manager who refuses to give any details about stock. When asking basic questions about an item I was told ‘I’m not going to tell you that,’ ‘I won’t give you any information, it’s all in Japanese’ and finally ‘People find out the brand item and then buy it elsewhere.’ I find it outrageously arrogant and senseless that you would expect a customer to pay £150 for a pair of garden secateurs when you can’t even tell me the brand name, what type of steel it or what differentiates it from other items at 1/3 the price. Hopeless and senseless individual. Began to challenge me on my gardening capabilities and just an absolute nonce. Sad, because I really wanted to purchase from this shop, but I’m not giving my money to someone so belligerent it beggars belief. If you hate giving customer service, perhaps excuse yourself and move to another profession.

Have to write this review today as I would like people to know what a really nice shop this is with really friendly and helpful staff. I had some keys cut and received a first class service. Highly recommend. Many thanks Farmer Brothers...

I moved from Belgravia where I had a nice independent hadware store and thought I wouldn't find the same in Chelsea.
How completely wrong I was; a hive of activity with every inch of space used and they have some of the most knowledgeable DIYers I have ever come across working there.
No wonder they are thriving after 180 years of business.

My new favourite shop on the Fulham rd and being someone who is normally more into shoes and handbags that's a BIG compliment!
The staff have given me confidence and advice so that I now tackle jobs I wouldn't have dreamed of before. Love the fact that they have time to give tips and advice to novices like me.

Beware, these people will not give refunds. It's shrugs of shoulders and a smug attitude. People have said they are well stocked, well yes but it's a tiny shop so of course it's stocked to the ceiling! I've lived in the area most of my life but I will never buy anything from them again, I would rather drive to the bigger stores who treat me fairly.

I`ve lived in Chelsea for 10 years and Farmers have never let me down. I`m in at least once a week, often asking for obscure items, and they have always had what I wanted. I feel lucky to have such an amazing shop close to where I live!

This is simply the best shop in the Fulham Road. Ok it may be pricey, but with the quality of service, the knowledge and range of products and the totally unpatronizing service given it is a fair price to pay. Where else in Chelsea could one find a small obscure piece of lock fitting in a moments notice? The window displays are wonderful. Forget the West End, this is the place to do your Christmas shopping.

Although Farmer Bros is well stocked and the staff are friendly and informative, it can be outrageously overpriced. I was sold a door bell set for just over £100 and when I learnt that it was available up the road at Nu Line for about £60 I was enraged! When I tried to return the goods I was offered a credit note but no refund, when I explained the shocking price difference there was but a shrug. Having used them for a while now I am sad to say I will never return!

I have been going to Farmers for years and have never been let down by them. They have always had what I wanted, or ordered anything unusual in. What a great window display too! I think one of the best hardware stores in London.

Farmer Brothers is one of those shops you remember from childhood, but now sadly, rarely find. The level of service is the best I have experienced in London for decades. Their knowledgeable and extremely helpful staff are never condescending as you might find in other establishments of this sort. They have an amazingly comprehensive range of products and if they don't stock it (highly unlikely) they certainly know where to get it. It's your one-stop shop for household and general D.I.Y./ building goods. An Aladdins Cave! Most highly recommended.
