Great little place
Fantastic food. Does massimo still work there

I can honestly say this is the best Italian food I've tasted in London. What with the rise of supermarkets and unauthentic Italian-imitation restaurants, it really is great to find a place serving genuine Italian food and wines.

The staff are all lovely - especially the owner ! Friendly and accommodating at all times, which makes shopping there an absolute delight.

If you haven't been already, do yourself a favour and get down there!

P.S. if you're unsure of what to try, go for the lasagna - a classic dish which they do better than anywhere else!

Fantastic little deli, a hidden gem!

This local family delicatessen serves the best homemade Italian dishes I have ever served. I had not been there until a friend recently suggested it to me and I'm so glad they did! The food is simply amazing. Such a cute little deli too, steeped in history. On chatting with the owner she tells me they've been going for over 25 years now! remarkable considering the rise of supermarkets. If you want excellent food and are willing to pay for that bit extra quality this place is for you.

I've bought food from them for twenty years, though not recently, and considered it restaurant quality food with a homemade touch. I often took friends there to buy, including New York Italians. If it wasn't so far from Kensington High Street I'd shop there more often. I've often suggested they open a shop nearer and just last week I suggested the new cafe/deli on Abingdon Road stock and sell some of their wonderful dishes like aubergine parmesian.

La Picena Delicatessen could not be better and is definitely one of a kind, excellent fresh meats and
lovely vegetables and many Italian specialities, such as meat ravioli and spinach and ricotta ravioli,are
always available together with other italian specialities.
The owner and the staff are always extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble, and this is the kind of
atmosphere that makes you want to continue shopping at La Picena.
