Horrific place and horrific owner who promised not to charge fees in first lockdown. Not only did he charge but refused credit and refunds. I am £100 out of pocket and he doesn’t respond to emails, texts and requests for a face to face meeting. Like many other people I have lost my job and need my money. He has charged for a service that can’t be used.

Manager is refusing to refund or give credit extensions to customers for the 6 months the gym was closed during 1st national lockdown. The Competition & Markets Authority says that “where consumers have paid money in advance for services or goods that have yet to receive, they will generally be entitled to obtain a refund” with gyms, this is generally given as a credit. The manager refused a refund or credit extension today.

Whilst it is a place to go to for exercise, it is not a place to change, shower or use the toilets. Once exercised, get out quick.
Some staff are very rude bordering on offensive and the rap music constantly being played is for the benefit of the staff, trainers and those under 24.
Overall the place is filthy with dirt, dust and mould built up over the years and never cleaned. The place leaks when it rains !
Many machines are permanently ‘out of order’ or dangerous with safety buttons sellotaped in place to stop them falling off. Thereby not being safety buttons.
Why do I go there? I’ve met some nice people with similar views to myself and made good friends and like I said, I exercise then get the hell out of there.

It's well-placed, staff are mostly friendly and pleasant but maintenance is pretty bad, sometimes being very lengthy - and some good machines have been replaced by poor choice, rubbish ones on occasions. Still, the clientele are generally OK and parking tolerable - although there are times when I've driven in and left due to overcrowding.
As they say, you get what you pay for...well, I'd expect just a little more but it's just about tolerable. Would I recommend it? Not wholeheartedly but maybe, depending on the individual

The gym is very dirty, there used to be a drinking water fountain which has also now been removed.

The equipment is normally out of order, parts missing or just generally not working.

The dumbbell weights are starting to show wear and tear and some of the newer ones require some screwing together again.

Staff has improved. There was one guy there who was rude, arrogant and patronising. He has luckily left making my gym visits more enjoyable.

Overall price is expensive. Equipment needs improving. Staff better.

Although the price is reasonable, the state of the gym is worrying. It seems filthy and sections of the building (changing room / showers) are in urgent need of repair.
Some staff are good, although I've stood at reception many times waiting one of the girls to finish texting before my presence is acknowledged.

The gym is the best in the area, as people say you get what you pay for. The staff are great and the atmosphere is always friendly. Some of the facilities are a little bit dated but new stuff arriving all the time. The classes are the best around by far. I have been a member for two years and will be renewing in September for another year

I really like this gym, I have been to others and this is the one I ended up coming back to. Staff and gym goers are both friendly and talkative, this gym has a big local community feel to it.

Classes are varied and often, and staff are always on hand to offer advise when needed.

parts of the gym are abit dated, but there is also some really modern equipment about.

My only gripe is that the gym in some parts can get a little dirty, and the manager can be a little moody.

Prices vary with promotions from time to time, but my average annual fee is around 250 pounds

Most of the staff here are great, friendly, approachable, except one in particular.
The gym itself is in need of desperate renovation works. The building leaks when it rains and alot of the equipment is very old.
The music while in the gym is very depressing and slow so be sure to take an mp3 player of some sort.
As the gym is small it doesn't take long for everything to become busy so waiting around for the machine or weights that you want becomes a common task
A price of £40 a month is waaay too expensive for this gym, half it and maybe it's worth going. View the gym before you join

Should be a nice friendly little club and creche is great. Sadly overall upkeep and cleanliness are non-existent. Changing rooms and showers are in desperate need of renovation. Toilets and showers are stinking and never clean. Gym equipment is often 'out of order' and in need of maintenance. Given that their prices are very low you don't expect high-tech equipment and lush facilities, but you should be able to expect a basic standard of operating gym equipment and a good standard of cleanliness. Both gym and creche staff are friendly and helpful so it's a shame the other points let it dow
