My partner bought my engagement ring from here.
Although I was not present at the time of purchase. He did let me know of the research he did and the jewellers he had visited.
He had visited a couple of jewellers but decided on purchasing through Gems due to the fact that they were helpful, friendly and put him at ease.
I think for the average Joe purchasing a diamond it is very difficult as the prices vary so much and you are putting such a huge amount of trust in the vendor.
The most valuable information here and what other customers are going to want to know is are you getting a good deal??
Well I just had my ring valued indapendantly 2 months after it was purchased form Gems. The valuation came back at £6000 more then what was paid.
I would love my ring regardless but nice to know that you arent being ripped off!

After searching through many shops in Hatton Garden, I stumbled across Gems Jewellers.

The staff were very helpful and very quickly understood exactly what i was looking for, rather than pushy sales people I came across in other stores trying to sell me what they thought would best suit me.

They helped me understand the technical aspects of diamond grading which led to me purchasing a very well priced platinum diamond engagement ring which my fiancee loves.

I HIGHLY recommend Gems Jewellers.

The staff was very nice in there, I bought a lovely pair of diamond earring for my mom and she loves them. They were very helpful as I knew nothing about diamonds when I entered the shop. The prices are not over the top, I highly recommend the shop.

Appalling aftercare and terrible customer service let's Gems down. They were very attentive and courteous when I was choosing to spend several thousands, but where were they when the stone fell out? They were blaming my fiancée and taking now responsibility at all. Had the stone reset by another jeweller after Gems did a terrible job. Avoid at all costs, and attend a wedding fair if you want to source a reputable jeweller for an engagement ring.

Excellent, attentive service; they really take the time to talk to you and answer any questions you have. I found them to be very honest and unbiased when discussing the quality of the diamonds - the 4 C's, and showing you the ratings on certificates. The price was fair (although as with any shop of this nature, there is considerable room for manoeuvre and bartering). I would highly recommend them.

The man I dealt with was extremely helpful and patient and I ended up getting a ring that my fiancee loves.

Everything was explained to me in a clear concise way and they are resizing the ring at no extra cost.

Having been into a few other shops on Hatton Gardens I am pleased to recommend Gems as a cut above the average.

Forget the relatively unglamourous shop fit - it's a class act inside.
