Masterclean

Very disappointed with the alterations service. Took a brand new, unworn dress in to get the sleeves shortened "to the elbow" with specific measurements taken by their tailor. Dress returned with sleeves over an inch shorter than requested, far above the elbow, and one side is uneven. Despite showing the difference with a tape measure and whilst worn, the manager refused to accept they are at fault. No apology or compensation offered for a ruined item of clothing.

I've used Masterclean for 11 years for repairs, alterations and a lot of dry cleaning and have never had a problem with them. Nice, friendly chaps who do a good job and aren't expensive.

Put in some bedding for cleaning which they lost (cost new about £200, about 2 years old). Fobbed off for weeks so eventually I forced the issue and asked for compensation - got a sob story from the manager about how it would come out of his pocket (surely they have insurance?). I agreed £75 - when I returned he asked me to accept a discount on my future dry cleaning instead. In a word, incredibly poor service - I won't use them again and advise others to go elsewhere.
