This black tie event gives you the chance to genuinely rub shoulders with stars from the big screen with past attendees including Martin Scorsese, Michael Caine, Ewan McGregor,Kevin Spacey, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslett, Daniel Craig and Helen Mirren. I remember last year chatting with Natalie Press about her film "The Summer of Love" over drinks then dancing with a few other people until around 1.30am.
The event takes place at the Dorchester Hotel on Wednesday 8th February 2006 and all of the nominees have been invited (though for security we can't confirm who's accepted their invite).
The Ralph Fiennes spy thriller "The Constant Gardener" leads the field with seven nominations including nominations for Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles, producer for Simon Channing Williams and film of the year.
Meirelles will have to fight off challenges from Ang Lee ("[i]Brokeback Mountain[i]"

The Black Tie Awards Ceremony is hosted by Mariella Frostup and John Marriott with the price including a free flowing Champagne Reception followed by the awards then dinner and dancing until 1.30am at the
Dorchester Hotel.
