If I could eat in only one restaurant in London it would be this one. Delicious French cooking with great atmosphere.
The service is extremely warm, personal and friendly. The food is superbly cooked without fashionable pretensions (or prices). Ingredients are seasonal, fresh and of the highest quality.
It's difficult to make recommendations as everything is so nice! The onglet steak is wonderful, but so is the Guineau Fowl and Duck. The desserts are not to be missed, in particular the chocolate soup with pepper ice cream and the Crepe Normande (apple, sugar flambed in Clavados).
I think it's telling that when I go in the evenings I notice that many of the customers are greated by name and I often recognise faces from previous visits. This place will not remain secret for long and quite deservedly so!
Only 5 minutes from Barbican and Farringdon tube stations, tucked away in Jerusalem Passage, France meets Belgium at this small, intimate, cosy Cafe-Bistro where you will be served carefully cooked classic Gallic dishes at very reasonable prices. It's where quality meets value!
