We were really looking forward to returning some where we had enjoyed some years ago. New decor was pleasant, service was efficient if somewhat off hand but the food was worse than ordinary. Reheated ( Microwaved?)) extremely overdone and largely inedible. Careful moderate complaint was met with a "well too bad/ who cares" type response. I would not recommend it to anyone. in fact i will try to make sure no one I know suffers the same poor food and unpleasant managerial attitude!

A wonderful place to take international guests (mine were from Germany) for their first Indian food, in an authentic atmosphere because of so many customers from the sub-continent who eat there.
After getting over the shock that there is no beer, we had a great time with the halal drinks that were on offer.
The food was simply excellent and the prices reasonable.
Congratulations to the owner for continuing the good tradition started by his father, as well as for developing it in interesting new ways.

I had heard this place was the Indian version of the Chinese Won Key in China Town - a fun churn them out place with good food.So I wasn't surprised to be greeted by Rude Waiters from the start. However, this is the only entertaining thing about the place. If you think thats entertaining. The food was dire. I'm not sure how they managed to mess up the chutneys and lime sauce (it was salty) but they did. The curries were beyond dire - i've experienced better sauce from the cheapest jar of sauce in a supermarket. I think you even get better curries in most of the states (not known for their curries). They no longer serve Alcohol of any kind - you can't even bring your own to the place, a feature often common with the Indians on Brick Lane.
