Tajima-Tei
Japanese Restaurant in The City
Tajima-Tei is a large restaurant that splits into two levels with a small bar. They offer a varied choice of typical Japanese dishes, including Sushi. Typical for the City, this restaurant is very busy at lunch times. Catering for private parties of up to 16 people is available upon request.
We had the most delicious dinner here, and the staff were very pleasant and unobtrusive. It may not look much from the outside, but it is well worth the visit. There were several tables of Japanese businessmen when we were there, which must be a good thing. The house wine was very reasonably priced, and perfectly nice.

Amazing 'real' tasting Japanese food. Wouldn't pull you in particularly from the outside and the service is muted but respectable. It's really the food that does it - recommend the set menus, you'll get some surprising treats that Wasabi, Yo Sushi and Itsu just won't deliver.
A great place to go if you've got a bit more time on your hands, fancy something a bit more adventurous and don't mind spending a bit more than a tenner.
this is a fantastic little place hidden off the main road, exitting from chancery lane tube
decor is good but its the food that will the thing that you remember most -- great selection and great quality. the staff v friendly and v helpful
can get quite busy with jp business folks at night which just re-inforces the quality of the food
